About me
Kristie Ortiz, Esq, is currently the Managing Attorney with the Housing Community Economic Development Program at Advocates for Basic Legal Equality. We are currently working on the areas of housing, prison reform, legislative advocacy, neighborhood stabilization work and environmental justice. Prior to working with ABLE, she was previously employed with Brooklyn Legal Services Corp A for 9 years and worked in Housing, primarily eviction defense under the Right to Counsel law. Before that experience, she owned her own general practice firm, where she practiced in landlord/tenant law, criminal law, estates planning, family law, criminal law, matrimonial and immigration.
