About me
Yaniris Gomez serves as the Project Director for Newark Community Solutions, a community justice program aimed at providing court-based and community interventions in Essex County, NJ. NCS runs a community court in the Newark Municipal Court (adult criminal diversion), Youth Impact (youth diversion), the Healthy Homes Bond Fund (habitability assistance), and an eviction diversion program. Ms. Gomez is a licensed counselor in the state of NJ. She has a BA in Psychology from Columbia University and an MA in Forensic Mental Health Counseling from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She is currently a fellow of the Bloomberg American Health Initiative, studying the intersection between public health and violence prevention at Johns Hopkins.
