About me
Kate Crowley Richardson (she/her) is Executive Director of Legal Link, a California-based nonprofit whose Legal First Aid® curriculum has certified more than 4,000 community legal workers across seven states. She previously served as Legal Director at Swords to Plowshares, where she expanded legal support for underserved veterans, and continues to serve the organization as a member of its Board of Directors. Early in her legal career, Kate served as a law clerk to the judges of Trial Chamber II at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda before joining Namati, a global legal empowerment organization. Partnership has been a throughline in her work: bringing legal knowledge into community-based settings, building Medical-Legal Partnerships and pro bono programs, and forging cross-sector collaborations to advance systemic change. Kate holds a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law, a B.A. from the University of Michigan, and is a member of the State Bar of California. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and two children, and is happiest near tall trees and open water.
